A man has been found unconscious in a downtown bar after an attack on Saturday.
Merseyside police rushed to Hardy’s Bar on Mathew Street around 6:25 p.m., Saturday, June 11, following reports of an unconscious man. Once officers arrived, they found the victim, a man in his 30s, unconscious after being assaulted at the bar.
The man was rushed to the hospital by the Northwest Ambulance Service, where he remains in serious but stable condition.

An eyewitness told The ECHO that several police patrol cars and ambulances were at the scene after the initial call in 999. An investigation into the incident has been opened and CCTV, witness and forensic investigations are continuing.
Officers remain at the scene today, Monday, June 13, while investigations continue, and anyone with information is asked to contact police.
Detective Inspector David Jones said: “We are investigating an assault in Liverpool this weekend that left one man injured. Mathew Street was said to have been very busy on Saturday evening.
“I urge anyone who is in the Hardy’s Bar around 6pm and has seen the aggression to contact us and help with our inquiries, as their evidence can be vital to We want our city center to be a safe place for people, all in Merseyside to enjoy, and we simply will not tolerate such violence.
“With the help of the public we can make our streets safer and I urge anyone with information about this incident to come forward.”
