Details of the May 18 incident are included in a report to the Calgary Police Commission that will be heard this afternoon.
District patrol officers, with the assistance of a school resources officer and school staff, detained the student without incident as classes changed, according to the briefing note.
Police say investigators believe the student was seeking attention and not “motivated by violent tendencies,” according to the report.
The student was charged with six felonies, including carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized possession, reckless use and tampering with a serial number.
The police commission will meet today from 3 to 5:30 p.m.
