A local photographer captured the northern lights at Penticton during the night.
Julia Jorges took several photos of the northern lights on Okanagan Lake Beach in Penticton between midnight and 1 a.m., capturing the green glow of the night sky over Okanagan Lake.
The phenomenon is caused by perturbations in the Earth’s magnetosphere of charged solar particles. It is more common to see natural light at more northern latitudes, but occasionally lights appear in the Okanagan.
