A man was taken to hospital after being rescued from the water at Salford Quays. Emergency services were called in shortly before 11 a.m. Thursday (June 2).

Firefighters, police and paramedics were photographed at the scene. Greater Manchester police later issued a statement saying a man had been rescued. His condition is serious, according to police.

“Officers were called to a body of water report at Salford Quays shortly before 11 a.m. today,” the statement said. Emergency services responded and a man was taken out of the water and to the hospital, where he remains. “
