A woman arrested in connection with 2 separate stab wounds at grocery stores in the Guildford area

The Surrey RCMP has arrested a 33-year-old woman in connection with two separate, allegedly unprovoked stabbing incidents last week at supermarkets in the Guildford area of Surrey, BC.

The woman was arrested after being stabbed at a Walmart at 10300 block at 152nd Street shortly before 9pm on Saturday, two days after a stabbing at the Royal Canadian Superstore on 104th Avenue left a woman seriously injured.

Police believe the same person is responsible for both incidents.

The second victim was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police said the woman left the store after the stabbing, but was located at block 15,000 on 104th Avenue.

“The suspect was arrested without incident,” said Surrey RCMP spokesman Cpl. Vanessa Munn.

Now that he has been arrested, police have removed surveillance footage from the Superstore incident for privacy reasons.

“These were disturbing and violent incidents in our community, and we thank all those who helped make sure a suspect was arrested,” the Insp said. Bill Parmar in a statement.

Anyone with information about any stabbing incident is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP.
