Jane Horrocks has accused TV producers of “producing” the same actors for the lead roles.
The British actress, best known for her role in the BBC sitcom Absolutely Fabulous, claimed that TV heads are “so short-sighted” during an intimate event, The Space, in Brighton.
The 58-year-old believes a wider range of actors should be considered for these roles as they could bring something new.

Asked how she felt about Olivia Colman, Keeley Hawes and Lily James being given all the coveted TV shows, she replied, “And Sarah Lancashire.”
He continued: “I think it ‘s a bit limiting for the audience to always see the same crowd.
“I’m just sorry for the audience that the curators and producers are so short-sighted that they have to keep producing the same people.

Top Women: Jane was asked how she felt about Olivia Colman (pictured this month), Keeley Hawes, and Lily James host all the coveted TV shows.
“They do an amazing job and if they’re offered the papers, of course, you accept them,” he said, before adding that he considers this “a little boring”.
Elsewhere during the discussion, Jane, who also starred in the 1990s musical film Little Voice, admitted that she had always been nervous about “sexy” roles and described herself as “not very good with them “.

Jane took on the role of Bubble – Edina (Jennifer Saunders) ‘a completely brainless personal assistant’ – and Katy Grin, and starred alongside Joanna Lumley and Julia Sawalha.
The first three series aired from 1992 to 1995, with a two – part series ending in 1996.
It was revived for two more series and two 60-minute specials that aired from 2001 to 2004.
Then, in 2011 and 2012, three new episodes were released, collectively titled Absolutely Fabulous: 20th Anniversary.
Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie, the finale of the show’s de facto series, hit theaters in 2016.
