Rishi Sunak says he will give his £ 400 energy discount to a charity

Veteran Conservative MP Sir Bob Neill has called for the resignation of Prime Minister Boris Johnson following Sue Gray’s report.

Sir Bob becomes the 12th Conservative MP to present a letter of censure to the 1922 committee.

In a statement posted on his website, Sir Bob said that because they “set the rules”, politicians have a “particular responsibility to respect them ourselves”.

He added: “Confidence is the most important commodity in politics, but these events have undermined confidence not only in the office of the Prime Minister, but in the political process itself. To rebuild that confidence and move forward, a change of leadership “.

It comes after a new government policy statement issued today said ministers who have been found to have breached the Ministerial Code will no longer be expected to automatically resign or face resignation.

The statement said it would be “disproportionate” to expect a minister to lose his job due to “minor” breaches of the code.

Instead, the prime minister could order “some form of public apology, corrective action or removal of the ministerial salary for a period of time.”

Conservatives would only occupy three of the 88 battlefield seats if elections were held now, the poll suggests.

The Conservative Party would only occupy three of its 88 battlefields in the UK if elections were held tomorrow, a new poll suggests.

In a major blow to the party, the Uxbridge and South Ruislip prime minister’s headquarters would likely fall under Labor control, with current results suggest a 5-point Labor advantage over the Conservatives.

According to the latest YouGov model, of the 88 seats that Boris Johnson’s party won in Labor in 2019 or currently has a small majority, the Conservatives would only manage to maintain control of Ashfield, Bassetlaw and Dudley North.

It follows a disastrous outcome for Mr. Johnson in this year’s local election, in which voters moved against the Conservatives in the Prime Minister’s seat, instead of electing three Labor councilors in 21 seats in eight districts.

Opinion: Labor says it is “winning the battle of ideas”; it is difficult to argue

Leaving aside the awkward fact that the Liberal Democrats proposed this rate in October, there is something in what Reeves says about the two major parties in our country. Rishi Sunak’s fiscal event was more or less scripted by Reeves, and she seemed satisfied enough with herself at the mailbox.

Sunak’s measurements won’t make a “difference in my bag,” says one disabled woman

Rishi Sunak’s measures to help people with disabilities during the cost of living crisis are not enough and will be “quickly absorbed,” said one woman living with an employment and support allowance (ESA).

Julie Inglis, 53, of Forres in the north of Scotland, worked at an ambulance control center but had to retire after several blows.

He lives with chronic pain and has been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, a lung condition that makes it difficult for him to breathe.

In statements to the PA news agency after the statement of Mr. Sunak on Thursday said Ms Inglis said: “While yesterday’s announcements were very welcome and will make a difference, I would be lying if I said enough.

“I am confident that most of my position will be the same. We’ve been fighting for so long that a few hundred here and there are swallowing up quickly and only reducing the debt a little bit.

“I won’t feel any difference in my bag.”

Sue Gray’s report highlights the need to “renew the default reactions,” Welby says

The Archbishop of Canterbury has said he would have been “cowardly” for not speaking out against plans to send failed asylum seekers to Rwanda.

When asked why he got into the matter, the archbishop told Channel 4, “There is a very strong moral and ethical component to the discussion.”

He added: “The main point I was making, and carefully it was not personalized, is to look ahead and say that what happens to the prime minister or political figures is a matter for politicians, so he did not comment in any way. Absolutely not.

“What I was saying is one of the things that Sue Gray’s report shows us is the need to renew the default reactions within our institutions, so the default reaction when someone says the rules were x but we will That is to say, “It would be nice to do that, but it’s not a good idea.”

“It’s a systematic problem in many institutions, including the Church of England.”
