CHICAGO – At least 54 people have been shot, seven dead, in the July 4 holiday weekend shootings in the city, Chicago police said.
In the deadly attacks this weekend, a woman was killed and a gunman was injured among two others in a Friday night shootout in Chinatown, Chicago police said.
A man and another gunman were shooting at each other around 10:50 p.m. on 2200 Island on South Wentworth Avenue, police said. A 24-year-old woman received a blow to the torso and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where she died from her injuries.
A second woman, 42, was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center with a gunshot wound to her hand, police said. It was listed in good condition. One of the gunmen, a 38-year-old man, was shot in the buttocks and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was in critical condition.

Three people were shot, one of them dead, in a backyard Sunday morning at Grand Crossing on the south side.
The attack occurred during an eight-hour violent period in Chicago during which at least 16 people were shot, two killed, Saturday afternoon through early Sunday morning.
The victims were with several people in the backyard of a house around 5:30 a.m. on the 7000 block of South Harper Avenue when someone approached and shot at the crowd, police said.
5 injured at Parkway Gardens
A 24-year-old man received several shots to the body and was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. Two women, ages 24 and 30, suffered multiple body injuries and were initially taken to Jackson Park Hospital before going to the University of Chicago Medical Center, police said. The condition of the younger woman stabilized and the older woman was in good condition.
A man was shot dead Friday in Englewood, on the south side.
The 26-year-old was outside around 5:45 p.m. on Block 6500 on South Wolcott Avenue when someone approached him and opened fire, police said. He was beaten in the arm and head and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Less than an hour earlier, a man was shot dead in West Garfield Park.
Around 5 p.m., Keishone Roberts, 29, was on Block 4300 on West Van Buren Street when someone approached him and opened fire, police and the Cook County Forensic Office said. . He was shot several times and taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Shortly after midnight on Saturday, a man was shot dead south of Chicago, in the far south.
Around 12:20 a.m., the 30-year-old man was on the 9000 block of South Escanaba Avenue when his head was shot, police said. He was transferred to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he died.
A man was shot dead while riding in a vehicle early Sunday in Brighton Park, on the southwest side.
Around 3 a.m., the 35-year-old man was in the passenger seat while a driver was traveling on the 3800 block of South Kedzie Avenue when he was shot in the neck, police said.
The driver then drove about two and a half miles to block 5600 South Spaulding Avenue, where she called police, officials said.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. His name has not yet been released.
A man was killed Saturday in a shooting on South Shore.
Around 4 p.m., he was riding his bike at 2100 block of East 71st Street when someone shot him from a dark-colored sedan, police said.
The 26-year-old was hit in the head and arm and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, according to the Cook County Forensic Office.
A man was shot dead sitting in front of a residential building Sunday morning in West Humboldt Park on the West Side.
The 38-year-old man was sitting outside the building around 10 a.m. in the 700 block of North Springfield Avenue when he was shot in the chest and head, police said.
He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.
Hours later, a man was shot while walking down Chicago Lawn, on the south side.
The man, believed to be between 25 and 35 years old, was walking around 12:50 a.m. Sunday at block 6500 South Kedzie Avenue when a dark-colored vehicle approached and someone inside went came out and opened fire, police said.
He was rushed to Oak Lawn Christ Medical Center with multiple gunshot wounds to the head, police said. He was later pronounced dead, authorities said.
In non-lethal attacks, four people were injured in a shooting Friday night in West Garfield Park.
Shortly after 9 p.m., a man walking along 3800 block of West Monroe Street opened fire and struck several people, according to police.
A 25-year-old man was hit in the back and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, police said.
A woman in her 20s received a blow to the leg and was taken to the same hospital in good condition, police said.
Another woman, 36, and a man, 41, suffered gunshot wounds to the back, police said. The couple was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition, police said.
A 90-year-old man was hospitalized in critical condition after receiving a shot Saturday morning in North Lawndale.
The man was found around 10 a.m. on the 1500 block of South Harding Avenue with a gunshot wound to the abdomen, police said.
According to police, he was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.
Detectives were talking to an interested person.
A 17-year-old girl was found between two people shot dead early Sunday in Bronzeville, on the south side.
The teen and a woman were outside around 12:45 a.m. on the 3700 block of South Langley Avenue when someone opened fire and hit them both, police said.
The girl received a blow to the arm and the 42-year-old woman received a shot in the foot, authorities said. They went to the University of Chicago Medical Center and both were in good condition.
A witness told officers the shooter may have traveled in a car, authorities said.
Hours later, a man was shot during an argument following a car accident in Rosemoor, in the far south.
The crash happened around 3:20 a.m. at block 10300 South Cottage Grove Avenue when the driver of a vehicle struck the man’s vehicle, police said.
The 45-year-old man was leaving his car to exchange information with the driver of the striking vehicle when an argument broke out between the two, police said. The driver of the hit vehicle then opened fire and hit the man in the neck, authorities said.
He was taken to Christ Lawn’s Christ Medical Center, where he was in normal condition, police said.
A couple of hours later, a man was shot after facing a person trying to get into his car Sunday morning in Burnside, on the south side.
Around 5:30 a.m., the man was confronted by someone trying to get into his car at 9300 block of South Rhodes Avenue when he was shot several times in the body, police said.
The 38-year-old man was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was in serious condition, police said.
On Sunday night, a 10-year-old boy was injured in his bedroom after being shot at an Englewood home on 600 block of West Englewood Avenue around 10:40 p.m., police said. He was taken in good condition to the Children’s Hospital of Comer.
On Monday morning, a shooting at Parkway Gardens left five men injured. Last weekend24 people were shot, five killed.
