Conservative MP resigns after Sue Gray’s report against “toxic culture” at number 10

Boris Johnson has suffered his first resignation since the release of Sue Gray’s report on parties blocking the blockade, as a Conservative MP accused him of presiding over a “toxic culture” at No. 10.

Paul Holmes, Eastleigh Conservative MP, resigned from his lower government role as Parliamentary Private Secretary to Priti Patel, the Home Secretary.

He said he was “shocked and angry” by Gray’s report and that the revelations that cleaners and security personnel had been abused were “disappointing and unacceptable”.
