There are currently 62,604 active cases in Western Australia.

Of the daily cases, 2,523 were confirmed by PCR testing and the remaining 4,577 were self-reported positive antigen rapid tests.

The drop in reported cases comes amid growing concern about the impact the winter flu season could have on WA’s already expanding hospital system.

Prime Minister Mark McGowan has announced that Western Australians will soon have free access to flu vaccines.

WA lived last Monday the deadliest day of the pandemic, when 14 people died from the infection.
