A customer died Saturday in an incident at the Trail Road landfill site, Quentin Levesque, acting general manager of Public Works, said in a memo to city council.
“The Department of Public Works sends its condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of the customer fatally injured in the incident,” the note said. “The Department has also supported landfill staff at that time.”
He said the Ministry of Labor was investigating, but no further details were given.
Ottawa police said the incident happened Saturday afternoon. The Ottawa Paramedic Service said one person was taken to hospital Saturday in critical condition.
