Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced a number of additional support measures last month to address the cost of living crisis in the UK.
Rising inflation and energy prices have hit homes hard, adding hundreds if not thousands to annual bills.
The chancellor confirmed that the £ 200 energy discount will double to £ 400 and will no longer be payable.
He also announced a special tax on energy companies and a single payment of £ 650 to support the most vulnerable in the country.
This is how it will work.
Who is eligible for the £ 650 grant?
The grant is being paid to people who receive benefits on the basis of resources.
The government says more than eight million homes will be donated, including the following:
- Universal credit
- Aid for income-based job seekers
- Employment related to income and support allowance
- Income support
- Labor tax credit
- Tax credit for children
- Pension credit
It is reported that claimants must have received one of these benefits, or have filed a successful claim, as of Wednesday, May 25th.
If you have a joint claim with a partner, you will receive a payment of £ 650 for both.
Resource-proof benefits are based on your income and the amount of capital you have; if someone can show that their income and capital are below a certain level, they qualify.
Need to apply?
No. If you are eligible for a grant, you do not need to apply. It should pay you automatically.

When will people receive the money?
The government has announced that the payment will be issued directly to households in two installments, one from July and one in the fall.
It will be tax-free, will not affect the benefit limit and will not affect existing aid.
The chancellor said: “We know that people are facing challenges in the cost of living and that is why I am intervening with more support to help with the increase in energy bills.
“We have a collective responsibility to help those who are paying the highest price for the high inflation we are facing. That is why I am directing this important support to millions of the most vulnerable people in our society. I said that we would be by the side of the people and that is what this support does. “
