The BC SPCA expects someone with information to report after an abandoned bullet wound dog was found on a Beaverdell property last week.

Kelowna SPCA branch manager Sean Hogan says German Shepherd Rose and her brother from the Great Pyrenees were left behind after their owner was evicted. The dogs were found on May 20th.

“After the examination, we learned that Rose had some pretty bad wounds that needed emergency care. We took her to a clinic immediately and at the end of that day I was talking to the vets about the extent of the wounds. and he was a great reference. “

“He had a big open wound on his torso and neck, as well as on the right side of his face. So what they were really telling me was that they had shot him. increase necrotic tissue and make sure it is not infected, “he said.

Rose has required several procedures to save her life.

Hogan says his chest wound was so severe that a bandage of honey was needed to promote new skin growth before they could perform a wound closure surgery.

“It’s always the worst when you hear that the worst side of humanity is so cruel to an animal. It’s not fair, but we don’t know the circumstances of what was happening in the first place. How she was shot, what it was all about. it makes it terribly sad that people feel like they can shoot animals unintentionally. “

Rose’s brother is well and is currently in foster care.

Anyone in Beaverdell who may have information about the Rose shooting is asked to contact the hotline at: 1-855-622-7722.
