It’s rare for a game to have a release date before it has its first trailer, but finally Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has both. We took our first, brief look at the game just this morning.
The trailer itself was clear in real detail, but we can get more information from the game’s Steam list, which fell next to the trailer. This should be exciting news for Steam fans, as Call of Duty has been omitted from the PC store since Black Ops 4, preferring to stick with Activision Blizzard’s own launcher.
According to official details, Modern Warfare 2 will have the return of Task Force 141 when they go on missions in Europe, Asia and America, which include offshore sieges with submarine combat, air raids and stealth missions. It is also said to include a Special Ops tactical co-op mode and a multiplayer mode that Activision promises will feature “lots of free post-release content” that includes new maps, modes, and events.
As for Activision’s multiplayer battle royale, Warzone is expected to be upgraded to 2.0 shortly after the release of Modern Warfare 2 to take into account the new gameplay, features and technology in the free experience, as well as add the its content, systems and more. However, Warzone will remain a separate experience and will continue the progression of existing players as it had before.
