It is worth noting that Sony has recently distinguished between its State of Play broadcasts (shorter broadcasts, with ads often grouped by topic) and its PlayStation Showcase event.
The Digital Showcase replaced what used to be Sony’s E3 face-to-face conference, usually its biggest and most notable revelation of upcoming games and announcements. Last year, Sony waited until September for its full Showcase, which included the first game of God of War: Ragnarok, jokes from Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine, a remake of Knights of the Old Republic. and much more.
