The remake of The Last of Us has been leaked for a long time, and is now officially called The Last of Us Part 1. It will be released for PS5 on September 2 and a PC version is being developed.
Apparently unintentionally revealed by Sony’s own PlayStation Direct site, the list was picked up by ResetEra modiz user. Although the list itself has been removed, at the time of writing a trailer is still available for viewing. The remake will include updated versions of the base game and its prequel DLC, Left Behind. No mention is made of Factions multiplayer mode.
The list calls the remake “a complete overhaul of the original experience, faithfully reproduced but incorporating a modernized gameplay, improved controls and expanded accessibility options. In addition, it feels immersed with improved effects and improved exploration and combat.”

The game looks set to be sold in both a standard edition and a Firefly edition. The latter includes a steel display case, copies of the comics Last of Us: American Dreams numbers 1-4 and “early game releases” (it’s not clear what they are).
We first heard the Last of Us remake last year, amid widespread reports of turmoil at Sony’s first party studios. It was reported that the game was originally managed by Sony’s Visual Arts Services Group, but later became a Naughty Dog project.
In 2013, we gave the PS3 version of The Last of Us a full 10/10 review, and later gave the PS4 remastering the same rating. This year, we named it the 17th best game of all time. Along with its equally stunning sequel, it is an amazing PS5 package.
