“I woke up this morning and saw that there was another shooting, and I think it’s crazy,” Gauff said of the shooting in Tulsa.
“I think it was just a message (I wrote) for people at home to see it and for people around the world to see it,” Gauff said.
“Hopefully, it gets to the head of the people in charge to change things.”

Earlier, Swiatek continued his march to a second French Open title in three years when he defeated Russian Daria Kasatkina 6-2, 6-1 to extend his winning streak to an astonishing 34.
The world number one conceded an early stop, but made the most of Kasatkina’s series of unforced errors, sailing the Court Philippe Chatrier with the winners.
Poland’s Swiatek, the 2020 champion, has not lost since February and has matched Serena William’s 2013 winning streak, having lost just two sets in her last four tournaments.
Swiatek returned to play with a ribbon of the colors of the Ukrainian flag nailed to his hat against his Russian opponent.
