The black and white image depicts a figure standing on what look like two legs and has what looks like two arms and a head that looks like a dog.
The photo was taken from a camera on the outskirts of Amarillo Zoo, North Texas, around 1:25 a.m. on May 21, and was eventually shared by the city of Amarillo.
The city describes the figure as an “unidentified yellow object” and asks locals if they know what it could be.
“Is that a person with a weird hat who likes to walk at night? A sucker? Do you have any idea what this unidentified yellow UAO object might be?” said the post on social media.
Thousands of people have responded to the publication with conjecture, some say it is simply a man dressed in a disguise, while others have taken a darker path saying that it is the mythical chupacabra or the skin walker, that the Navajo legend describes her as a noxious witch who can disguise herself as an animal.
