Rumors have started circulating on the Internet that Neve Campbell will NOT return for next year’s Scream 6, and Campbell herself has reportedly told fans this news on the convention circuit. But is there any truth in these rumors? So far, Bloody Disgusting has been listening to similar sentiments and we are looking for more information.
Sure, anything could change from now on, but all the signs at this point point to Scream 6 centered on characters beyond the iconic heroine of the Sidney Prescott franchise.
The official description of the plot of Scream 6 reads: “The Scream saga continues with the four survivors of the Ghostface murders as they leave Woodsboro behind and begin a new chapter.”
If we’re really ready for a completely “new” chapter for Scream 6, it would be the first Scream movie without Snow Campbell. For this year’s Scream 5, the only reason Sidney Prescott fought Ghostface again was because of Dewey’s death, so it only makes sense that Sidney no longer had any reason to be involved in the bloody ordeal.
Stay tuned to find out more as we learn.
