“It’s always a threat”: Conte reportedly wants to bring 27-year-old “perfect footballer” to Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Czech midfielder Antonin Barak for the past few weeks.

In April, Tuttomercatoweb claimed that Spurs boss Fabio Paratici was “ready to accelerate” for Hellas Verona star.

More recently, Mondo Udinese, through Sport Witness, claimed that the 27-year-old’s form this season has “haunted” Tottenham.

7 pre-arranged summer transfers (2022)

Antonio Conte wants to try to convince Barak to join the Premier League.

Barak has only two years left on his contract with Verona.

The report suggests that the summer presents an “excellent opportunity” for Verona president Maurizio Setti to take advantage.

Corriere della Sera, via TEAMtalk, has recently claimed that Verona has put a £ 17million price on Barak.

In addition to Tottenham, Napoli seem to be looking at the 6-foot, 3-inch ace.

The attacking midfielder has been sensational with Igor Tudor, who took the reins in September last year.

Barak has 11 goals and four assists to his name in 29 Serie A games this season.

His outstanding performance was against Sassuolo in January, recording a hat-trick and an assist in a 4-2 victory.

Although Barak missed the last two games of Verona with a foot injury, he is expected to return very soon.

“It’s a guarantee”

Now Italian football journalist Conor Clancy has told GiveMeSport that Barak would be a “perfect” acquisition.

“Barak, it’s a guarantee,” he wrote.

“When he plays for Verona, he is always a threat, whether he takes advantage of the opportunities or creates them himself.

“He is also decent in the air, something that is not usually seen in offensive midfielders.

“He doesn’t look like a player who is so elegant on the ball, but he is technically excellent.

“He can score all kinds of goals, his running time is pretty flawless. I think he’s a perfect footballer.”
