If you want to know one of the best tried and tested ways to lose weight, then TV doctor and diet expert Michael Mosley has some fantastic tips that you don’t want to lose.

He says simply reducing three different food groups can achieve amazing results, and can be a lot easier than you might suspect.

First, while it may seem obvious at first, your doctor advises you to reduce sugary products, which are often hidden in foods you may not suspect.

Many may not be aware of the amount of sweets in seemingly healthy products, such as most breakfast cereals and commercial smoothies.

Next on your list are “starchy carbs,” usefully grouped as “white stuff,” that is, pasta, bread potatoes, and white rice.

“Instead, switch to whole grains, including bulgur (broken wheat), whole rye, whole barley, wild rice, and buckwheat. Brown rice is fine,” he says.

Dr. Mosley also suggests that eating legumes like lentils, beans, and chickpeas is not only healthy, but also plentiful.

“Make sure you fill up on protein and vegetables on fasting days. Proteins are very satiating and you can eat a lot of vegetables for very few calories,” he added.
