Nancy Pelosi’s husband killed her older brother when he threw his sports car in California, 65 years before he was arrested over the weekend and charged with drunk driving, according to newspaper clippings.
Paul Pelosi was 16 when he crashed his car near San Mateo in the early hours of February 22, 1957, the Daily Mail reported, citing local news at the time.
Her brother, 19-year-old David Pelosi, was probably strangled by a neck pain he was suffering from from a previous neck fracture, according to the San Francisco Examiner report.
Paul, who suffered a collarbone fracture in the accident, called for help after being released from his car, according to the report.
Highway patrolman Thomas Ganley told the local network at the time that Paul said his older brother had urged him to slow down in the moments before the crash.

“The car crossed the road, bounced off a small embankment, climbed 20 feet up another, turned and made a somersault simultaneously and ended up on his shoulder with the two young men below.” , said the local report.
Paul’s older brother was pronounced dead after arriving at Mills Memorial Hospital in San Mateo.
According to the report, the brothers had gone out for a “joyride” at the time after Paul had picked up David at a girl’s house.
The patrolman said he planned to summon Paul for a felony count of manslaughter, but the case never reached the courts and a forensic jury acquitted the teen.
Details of the fatal accident came as a result of Paul’s arrest following his alleged intoxication accident in Napa Valley on Saturday night.
Paul, now 82, was driving home alone after dinner when he crashed, his lawyer told Fox News.
His lawyer said Paul had stopped at an intersection before turning onto State Route 29 when his 2021 Porsche “was hit in the rear fender by a Jeep”.
Paul, who has been married to a House spokesman since 1963, has been charged with one count of driving under the effects and another of driving with a blood alcohol level of 0.08 or higher. Both charges are misdemeanors.
He was released on $ 5,000 bail.
Paul’s spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Post. When asked about the fatal crash, Pelosi’s office forwarded The Post to Paul’s spokesman.
