Police shot at a car and arrested a teenager after a robbery in Brighton

Police have fired a car and arrested a teenager following a robbery in the wooded suburbs of Melbourne, where Bec Judd said women now feel “insecure”.

Police have fired a car and arrested a teenager after a robbery in the Melbourne suburb of Brighton.

The 14-year-old boy has been arrested and others are still on the run after a house on Cochrane Street was stolen on Saturday and his car keys and a handbag were stolen shortly after 1.30am.

Two cars were then stolen and driven by the group, according to police.

Officers later stopped a vehicle in a parking lot near the intersection of St Kilda Road and Alma Road in St Kilda around 2.20am.

They approached the car and the driver rushed towards one of the officers, throwing him to the ground.

The other officer pulled out his gun and fired at the car as it was leaving.

A 14-year-old boy from Hallam was arrested in the southeastern suburbs shortly before 8 a.m.

The gruesome altercation comes just days after WAG Bec Judd said he felt “insecure” at his nearby mansion after an increase in “rapes, assaults and home invasions” in the area.

Mrs. Judd, a mother of four, owns a $ 7.3 million Brighton mansion with former AFL star husband Chris.

He took to Instagram to accuse the Victorian state government of allowing crime to get out of hand in the charged area.

“So fed up with gang rapes, beatings and house raids in Bayside,” she wrote in an Instagram story on Thursday.

“The state government doesn’t seem to care. We feel insecure.

“I personally know two women who have suffered house raids in Brighton over the past few weeks while they were at home.”

Detectives from the Southern Metro Regional Crime Team are investigating the latest incident Saturday morning and the teen is in custody.

The investigation is ongoing.

Any witnesses or anyone with board camera images are asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
