Prime Minister Justin Trudeau plans to make a stop in Calgary to attend a variety of events, including a trip to the Stampede venue Sunday morning.
Calgary Skyview MP George Chahal’s Stampede breakfast organizers say he plans to make a brief appearance at the event at the Genesis Center.
The free face-to-face event, located at 7555 Falconridge Blvd. NE, will serve pancakes, halal and vegetarian sausages along with chai and coffee to the guests. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Breakfast is served from 8 am to 11 am
Trudeau will visit the Calgary Stampede at 10:30 a.m. and later appear at a fundraising event in Calgary at 1:00 p.m., where he is expected to make a speech.
THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY CELEBRATES AN ANNUAL EVENT
While many of the aspirants to the Conservative Party leader, along with interim leader Candice Bergen, attended a breakfast Saturday morning, the party held its own annual event at Heritage Park later in the day.
Four of the people who presented themselves to the leadership were able to make statements at the event, which was attended by a large number of faithful from the party.
The Conservative Party says it has about 675,000 members, the highest it has ever had, and that it has raised $ 11.5 million during the last leadership campaign.
Bergen says Conservatives need to return to power in Canada and be proud of what they have done in the past.
“We are the party that built Canada and continues to build Canada,” he told his supporters. “From the Confederation to the Railroad to the Bill of Rights, to a national pension plan and universal child care benefits, all of these are conservative ideas that became a policy for the country of Canada.
“We should be very proud of that.”
