The Queen has begun her journey back to London ahead of her platinum jubilee celebrations this week.
The 96-year-old monarch was photographed arriving at Aberdeen Airport.
He has been staying in Balmoral, his Scottish estate, for a few days before the festivities begin to mark the 70th anniversary of his reign.
The celebrations take place over four holidays starting on Thursday.

Trooping The Color is the first event, as thousands of people are expected in central London for the Queen’s Birthday Parade and the pomp and prestige that accompanies it.
The queen will later appear on the palace balcony to take a traditional RAF step.
On Thursday evening, 2,000 towns, villages and cities will light headlights together as one lights up at Buckingham Palace at 9:45 p.m.
A Thanksgiving service for the Queen will take place on Friday in St. Paul’s Cathedral.

There will be no ceremonial journey to the service, and Her Majesty chooses not to climb the steep steps, using an alternative entrance.
Afterwards, there will be a reception in the Guild Hall.
The Queen’s love for horses is well known and on Saturday she will go to Derby Day at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey.
The Derby is the only one of the five flat races that the queen has not won with one of her horses. You must receive an honor guard of up to 40 of your past and present jockeys.
Later that day, 22,000 people will attend the Platinum Festival at Buckingham Palace.

Strong stars for the queen
A concert will begin on Saturday at 8pm and will see the return of the rock band Queen, whose singer Brian May performed on the roof of Buckingham Palace for the pre-palace party in 2002.
Sir Elton John will take part in a pre-recorded performance, with live stars such as Alicia Keys, Nile Rodgers and Andrea Bocelli.
Duran Duran, Hans Zimmer, Ella Eyre, Craig David, Mabel, Elbow and George Ezra will also be present, as well as recent UK Eurovision star Sam Ryder.

The jubilee celebrations conclude on Sunday afternoon with a grand parade in central London.
Along a 3km journey from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace, an army of 10,000 volunteers, dancers, musicians and members of the army will tell the story of their 70 years of reign.
About 150 “national treasures” are in attendance, with names such as Gary Lineker, Bill Bailey, Alan Titchmarsh, Sir Cliff Richard and Torvill and Dean.
The queen is expected to reappear on the palace balcony as the audience and the assembled stars sing the national anthem, led by Ed Sheeran.
