RAM TRX: the fastest uute in the world on sale officially

Named the Tyrannosaurus rex, this monster truck is here to devour Ford’s Ranger Raptor, but its price offers a fierce bite.

The most powerful uterus in the world is on sale in Australia and offers spectacular performance for an amazing price.

Powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8 borrowed from the Dodge Hellcat and Jeep Trackhawk, the new RAM TRX has a whopping 523 kW and 882 Nm of power.

That’s more power than many exotic supercars and more than triple the growl of a Toyota HiLux.

The only one that will come close to its performance is the new Ford Ranger Raptor, a car that changes a 157 kW four-cylinder diesel engine for a 292 kW twin-turbocharged V8.

Even then, RAM has made no secret of the fact that its TRX, named after the Tyrannosaurus Rex, is here to eat the Raptor. It even has “Easter egg” images molded into interior plastics showing the T-Rex hunting a raptor and crushing the smaller dinosaur with its huge jaws.

Practical upgrades over the normal 1500 RAM include a wider body to accommodate a massive 325mm wide Goodyear tire.

A new grille and hood intake feed air into the massive supercharger, while the large brakes and Bilstein suspension help maintain control of the large platform.

Cab technology includes a 12-inch portrait-style touchscreen, modern driver assistance features and a sports steering wheel with shift paddles.

RAM says the 19-speaker Uman Harman Kardon stereo is “the best and most powerful audio system available in a van.”

Customers also get electronic features such as launch control and various driving modes, including a Rally-inspired Baja configuration.

The problem is that none of this is cheap.

The RAM TRX starts at $ 199,950 plus off-road costs that make its price exceed $ 200,000, more than doubling the cost of Ford’s best-selling Ranger Raptor.

Part of Porsche’s rival price tag comes from the performance hardware under the hood.

And partly due to the need for RAM to convert the car from left to right in Melbourne, adding to the $ 78,890 ($ 113,500) RAM charges for the ute in America.
