The RCMP of British Columbia says a body has been recovered by emergency crews on a lake near Nanaimo.

Teams say in a statement they believe the man drowned while swimming in Long Lake this weekend.

They say the man’s family told officers he went to the bathroom around 6pm on Sunday and called police when he had not returned the next morning.

Police say Nanaimo search and rescue teams recovered the body minutes after deploying to the area.

They say the man was 30 years old.

Police say BC’s forensic service also attended the scene and no suspicion of foul play.
