On Tuesday, Aerosmith announced that its leader Steven Tyler had entered a treatment program after having relapsed with pain pills after foot surgery.
The four-time Grammy-winning band released a statement informing fans that they should cancel their first set of Las Vegas residency dates this June-July at Park MGM while the 74-year-old rocker concentrates in their health and recovery.
“As many of you know, our dear brother Steven has been working on his sobriety for many years,” the statement said.

“We will continue our 2022 dates from September and inform you of any updates as soon as we can. We are devastated to have bothered so many of you, especially our most loyal fans who often travel long distances to experience our shows. .
“Thank you for your understanding and support of Steven during this time. If you have purchased your tickets through Ticketmaster, you will be refunded and will receive an email shortly with details; otherwise please contact with your point of purchase for refund information. ‘
The Boston band, along with Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton, Joey Kramer and Brad Whitford, expect Steven to recover before his next concert scheduled for Sept. 4 at the Maine Savings Amphitheater in Bangor.
