Now that the Metropolitan Police have closed their investigation and issued the last batch of fines, the long wait for Sue Gray’s findings is almost over.

Critics of Boris Johnson expect Gray’s report to Partygate to set the scale of breaking the law on his watch in primary colors. But will it be as devastating as they want?

Experts believe that while he will be “condemning the civil service,” Gray will not slay the prime minister.

A source familiar with the report believed that Gray’s assessment would be that there was evidence to suggest that he was ill-advised and that he was not necessarily aware of the events he was encountering.
