A schoolboy who died after being stabbed in Wolverhampton has been named locally as Zane. Cards, flowers and candles have been left at the scene near Reapers Walk in tribute to the 15-year-old.
The boy was part of a group of people outside Pendeford Fish Bar, in The Haymarket, at about 3.40pm. Paramedics were then called to a canal bridge near Reapers Walk – half-a-mile from the fish and chip shop- and began treating him before calling police at about 4.15pm.
A 16-year-old boy from Wolverhampton arrested on suspicion of murder was still being questioned by police this morning, May 30, after magistrates granted officers extra time. Police also arrested a 46-year-old woman, from Wolverhampton, on suspicion of assisting an offender who has since been released pending further enquiries.
