It is speculated that Elon Musk may have been introduced to Australian bride Natasha Bassett in an unconventional way, at least for celebrities.
When you hear about celebrity couples, it is usually assumed that they were known for being celebrities.
Many celebrities run in the same social circles, go to the same events, or even work together, making it easier for them to get to know each other and establish relationships with other celebrities.
What you probably don’t expect is that the richest man in the world has been introduced by his mother to his promising girlfriend actor.
Well, it is speculated that this may be exactly what happened to Elon Musk and his new girlfriend, Australian actress Natasha Bassett.
The couple was recently photographed together on holiday in the French coastal town of Saint-Tropez, and rumors of their relationship surfaced in February.
Although the 50- and 27-year-olds have only been romantically linked for a few months, they seem to have actually known each other for years, with Bassett close to his mother Maye Musk.
Maye, a 74-year-old model, first met Bassett in 2015 and, after meeting her, posted a message on the actor’s Instagram account.
“Nice to meet you both,” he wrote, referring to Basset and his mother.
They seem to have maintained a friendship ever since, and Bassett was seen having a lively chat with Maye at the Cannes Film Festival premiere of Elvis last week.
Basset stars in the film, playing Elvis Presley’s first girlfriend, Dixie Locke.
It was later confirmed that Bassett brought Maye as his most ua event.
Their long-standing friendship has sparked speculation that Maye may have introduced her son to the Australian actor, according to the Daily mail.
A source close to Musk said Hollywood life that Bassett and the CEO of Tesla are “going strong.”
“Elon and Natasha are still strong and over time Natasha has developed a strong bond with her mother Maye,” the source said.
“Maye is the most important person in Elon’s world and the fact that she loves Natasha means a lot to him.”
The source also stated that, although the couple “only a couple of months ago”, “they are already in a monogamous relationship”.
Recent photos of Musk and Bassett in Saint-Tropez together show the couple laughing and chatting while enjoying a meal at the Hotel Cheval Blanc.
The luxury hotel costs more than $ 1,300 a night.
Bassett, who moved to New York from Sydney when he was 19, has been working in the acting industry for more than a decade and previously appeared as Britney Spears in a 2017 biopic.
Bassett discovered his love of acting at a young age and joined the Australian Theater for Young People where he honed his skills.
He won several concerts in Australia, starring in the television series Rake and Camp. He also landed roles in the Coen brothers’ film Hail! Caesaraction comedy Spy intervention and thriller Spinning Man.
In December, Musk welcomed his second child, Exa Dark Sideræl, with his ex-girlfriend Grimes through a surrogate, although their relationship ended two months earlier.
The two also share a son, X Æ A-Xii and, born in May 2020.
The SpaceX founder also has five more children than his first wife Justine Musk and previously dated Amber Heard after his divorce from Johnny Depp in 2016.
Speaking to Vanity Fair earlier this year, Grimes revealed that his relationship with Musk was “fluid.”
“I would probably refer to him as my boyfriend, but we’re very fluent. We live in separate houses. We’re best friends. We see each other all the time.… We have our stuff, and I don’t expect other people to understand,” he told the publication.
“This is the best he has ever been,” he said of his happiness. “We just have to be free.”
The 34-year-old even said he hoped to further expand his family, and told Vanity Fair that “they’ve always wanted at least three or four” children together.
