The woman was already on bail for driving offenses before the fatal crash in Melbourne

A woman allegedly responsible for a terror accident that killed a Melbourne grandfather was already on bail for a series of driving offenses.

The crash happened Thursday when a white Audi sedan and a gold Honda sedan collided at the intersection of Links and Glengala Road in Sunshine West shortly before 1 p.m.

The collision killed 69-year-old Sedat Hassan.

Police said at the time of the crash, 22-year-old Alisha Fagan was driving with a suspended learning permit that had been canceled for six months for previous driving offenses.

Officers allege Fagan was failing on bail and, after the crash, blew 0.027 on a breathalyzer test.

Fagan also had a kitchen knife in his bag, as well as two and a half pills that he said were Xanax with a prescription.

The court heard Fagan tell police she was a passenger in the back seat of the white Audi who did not give in and crashed into Hassan’s driver’s side.

Police also said Fagan said three other men, including the driver she had met that night, fled the scene while she was staying.

But detectives allege she was driving and that it was one of her passengers who overtook her and told police.

Investigations, including forensic investigations, will continue for the next three months to determine where the alleged criminals were sitting in the car.

The 22-year-old was denied bail and will return to court next week.

Tributes have been paid to Hassan, who was his grandfather only four months ago.
