With a record low unemployment, record inflation and a crisis in the cost of living, these are the jobs that will allow you to get a bigger salary package.
As inflation rises and the pressures of the cost of living see Australians struggling, finding a job where wages are actually rising can be difficult.
But according to Seek, this is not impossible.
In fact, new data from the job website have shown that some positions have seen an average salary increase of more than 30 percent in the last two years.
He said money was the main reason for people to change jobs, with 40% of workers surveyed by the website saying that financial compensation was now more important to them than before the pandemic. However, other things also came into play such as team morale and culture, as well as the ability to work remotely.
Closure of borders due to the pandemic led to record low unemployment as well as a shortage of labor and skills, which led some industries to raise wages to attract workers.
This has led to the global Great Resignation phenomenon, and almost 10% of Australian workers (1.3 million people) changed jobs last year, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
Kris Grant, CEO of management consultancy ASPL, said the ABS data was clear evidence that the country was seeing the start of the Great Resignation in Australia.
“We have seen the turnover rate rise to a 10-year high of 9.5% as the labor market hardens and the unemployment rate drops to a 50-year low of 3.9%.” , he said.
“Employees who are unhappy will walk in and increasingly use their bargaining power to demand higher salaries.”
Seek’s director of sales and services, Stephen Tuffley, said some of the industries that have experienced the highest wage growth include trade and services, information technology and hospitality and tourism.
“I think what contractors are finding is that it’s not just about paying … it’s also about the advantages and benefits and the flexibility that contractors can offer,” he said. Dawn of the weekend.
“We know that the salary is the most important thing for the candidates, but these things are also important.
“In view of leaving Covid, we know that many more people want to work from home and now there are some functions that are totally remote and others that only require you to be in the office one or two days a week and some people they are looking for it.
“Some of the other benefits that can be offered are the gym subscription or a free lunch once a week, or other things like that to try to build some morale and culture in the companies.”
According to Seek, the five jobs in Australia that have had the highest salary increases in the last two years are:
• Lease Manager: 36% increase to $ 109,949
• Education Consultant: 35% increase to $ 82,401
• Resident Medical Officer: A 31% increase to $ 128,812
• Warehouse Manager: up 30% to $ 90,227
• Infrastructure Inspector: up 29% to $ 105,515

For those who simply want a pay raise in their current job, Mr. Tuffley advised you to do your homework first.
“Look at what jobs you’re looking for right now and if there’s a big difference between what you get paid and what others offer, at least that should give you a reason to have a conversation with your boss.” He said.
