Three people were taken to hospital after being stabbed several times at the North Saanich residence

Three victims have been taken to hospital in serious condition after a stabbing took place inside a North Saanich residence, according to the Sydney / North Saanich RCMP.

The incident took place on May 27 when RCMP officers received a 911 call in which several people had been seriously injured by someone who was still inside the residence, located in the 10000 block of Derrick Road to North Saanich.

Officers arrived at the scene and forcibly entered the residence, locating three individuals who had been stabbed several times.

Police say they also located the man responsible for the incident and were arrested without incident.

Officers conducted emergency first aid measures until the scene was deemed safe for BC ambulance paramedics. The three victims suffered injuries that required an emergency transfer to the hospital.

The victims are currently in a serious but stable condition and are expected to survive the injuries.

“The officers who responded relied on their training and escalation skills to stop this very agitated and violent person. There is no danger to the public and at this stage of the investigation it is believed that the detained man is known to the victims and that this is an isolated incident.

The man who was arrested at the scene remains in police custody, the GRC reported.
