At least one of the 19 injured is in critical condition, while others transported to hospitals have non-life-threatening injuries, Lincoln Police Captain Max Hubka told CNN early Monday.
At about 10:45 p.m., Sunday, a vehicle was traveling west near 52nd and O streets, Hubka said. When another vehicle turned left to go east, there was a T-bone crash that pushed pedestrians along the street, he said.
During Memorial Day weekend, the city has many events with many “pedestrians and street spectators,” Hubka said.
“We also had people sitting on the sidewalk when the accident happened,” he said.
Two women in one of the vehicles died while the driver of the other vehicle was receiving treatment at a hospital, Hubka said. At the moment, it is not clear which occupants were in which vehicle, he said.
