A Vernon RCMP officer was treated for minor injuries after a fleeing vehicle engulfed two police cruises in the city center on Friday afternoon.
RCMP spokesman Vernon Const. Chris Terleski says officers were doing a proactive application when they noticed a suspicious vehicle was turning onto 34th Street from 30th Avenue around 4:45 p.m.
Officers tried to stop the vehicle when it became the parking lot of a residential building, but the driver refused to stop.
The Kia SUV collided with two police vehicles as the occupants escaped.
The vehicle was later found abandoned near Centennial Drive.
The occupants were not located and police are still investigating.
