1 dead, 2 missing after a ship sank in Lake Reservoir Spray: Canmore RCMP

One person has died and two people are missing after a boat capsized at Spray Lakes Reservoir, Alta.

A fourth person was able to reach the shore and has been taken to a Canmore hospital, according to the RCMP.

Emergency crews could not confirm what caused the sinking of the boat or whether the occupants were wearing life jackets.

Kananaskis emergency services are coordinating the search for the two missing navigators with the support of Alberta conservation agents and the RCMP.

“They have been using boats. I understand there are capabilities to sound on some of these ships, “Richter added.” There have been helicopters helping with the search today. “

Lifeguards say the survivor is suffering a shock and other physical symptoms as a result of being in extremely cold water, as well as the emotional trauma of the incident.
