One person has been killed and seven others injured in a crash in central Toronto, according to police.
Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Wellington Street and University Avenue on Friday around 11:45 p.m. to report a collision of several vehicles and a collision with a pedestrian.
They arrived to locate several people with different injuries, and police said one person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Toronto paramedics said they transported a total of seven people to the hospital with injuries ranging from mild to severe.
The circumstances that led to the accident are unknown.
Police said a driver involved in the collision was later arrested for impaired driving.
Roads in the area are closed for investigation.
