It actually ended on November 7, 2018 on NXT, when Gargano cut an unbearable interpolation promotion with the deception that was the Winter Soldier when, in fact, it was Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man 3. The story was so far from what it was. that Adam Cole became the favorite role of the fans. Gargano’s incredible performance at TakeOver: New York was a mistake; never again was it the best babyface.
To his credit, Gargano also intuited this and reinvented himself as a comic madman, this time only deliberately, as the leader of the Way faction towards the end of his WWE career.
