An 11-year-old girl has died after she went missing during a friend’s birthday party at a Windsor water park.
The boy, who has not yet been named, “didn’t come back up” after being spotted underwater at Liquid Leisure near Datchet, Berkshire, on Saturday afternoon, according to witnesses.
Rescuers and citizens joined the search and the emergency services were called at around four in the afternoon with two helicopters used to search the area from above.
The girl was eventually found at 5.10pm and taken to Wexham Park Hospital, but Thames Valley Police later confirmed she had died “as a result of this tragic incident”.
