A young man was caught on video from the surveillance camera holding a Michigan gas station while asking for money from the cashier.
The images show the skinny 12-year-old calmly waiting in line in the city of Hartford, with his hand in his backpack while a customer in front of him pays for petrol.
When he reaches the front of the line, he pulls a 9mm gun out of his black bag and asks for money.
‘Put the money in your bag!’ the boys say calmly. The cashier is initially incredulous at the request and asks, “Are you serious?”

To make sure he sees his request as legitimate, the boy shoots a bullet in the ceiling.
The woman behind the counter is startled but then pulls a bag of money out of the safe and quickly hands it to the boy, ordering him to “Get out!”
When the boy leaves, he tries to reload his weapon but gets stuck. You can see one of the carcasses falling to the ground.
Then the boy comes out calmly as if nothing had happened.
Shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday, 911 dispatchers received a call about armed robbery at the Marathon gas station on East Main Street, just one block from the police station.
The boy was quickly picked up by police minutes later.
Hartford Police Chief Tressa Beltran picked him up without incident and was charged with armed robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon and unloading a firearm at Van Buren County Family Court on Thursday .

Officers believe the boy explained to another student at his school his plan to carry out the armed robbery before searching for his grandfather’s safe weapon.
The grandfather, who is the child’s legal guardian, told police he did not know his grandson could access the safe.
A sign on his front door read, “No comments at this time, no photos.” I have to live in this village and I need some sleep.
The boy, who is attending Hartford Middle School, is currently being held at the Allegan County Youth Center and will remain there until a hearing later this month.
“I thought I was a kid, not even 10 years old,” the store clerk, Jessica, told news channel 3.

‘It seemed too quiet. I seriously thought it was a joke until I heard the gun.
“Part of me wanted to grab the kid because he has so many problems, so it’s hard to feel bad when he did something like that,” Jessica said.
“I always thought that if I was robbed I would give them the money, no amount of money is worth my life.”
Police say the boy did not give any reason why he committed the robbery.
“Every day I see something new in this job. I’ve been a full-time police officer for 38 years. What really surprised me was that he didn’t show any emotion,” said Hartford Lt. Mike Prince.
“He told us he didn’t do it for the money. He said he would throw the money down the drain. He didn’t give us an explanation as to why he did it.”
