AEW
All Out 2022 arrives under unusual circumstances, with AEW leaving fans in the dark about the main event until just four days before pay-per-view.
This is almost unprecedented in the modern era. Particularly for AEW, for whom pay-per-view buys still represent a significant portion of revenue. Companies that need to convince their consumers to part with $50 usually advertise in advance, opening a longer window, but here we are. The numbers will tell us if this Tony Khan marketing experiment is worth it or not.
Most would have predicted CM Punk vs. Jon Moxley II as the headliner, though. MJF or ‘Hangman’ Adam Page may have entered the main event scene and interrupted this at Dynamite, although the latter has a different role at All Out and the former could deliver one of the biggest moments of the night . It seems, more and more, that the return of The Salt of the Earth is imminent. When it happens, expect it to be the biggest thing in wrestling, bar none.
Beyond Moxley/Punk II, matches like Chris Jericho vs. Bryan Danielson, the four-way Interim Women’s World Championship, The Elite’s quest to become the first trio of AEW champions, a possible MJF comeback, the guaranteed surprise of the “Joker” in the Casino Ladder Match , and more will be sold All Out.
