Two men have died at the hospital and three more have been injured in an overnight shooting at an Oshawa bar, according to Durham regional police.
Police were called to The BLVD restaurant and bar on Simcoe Street North near Durham College in Oshawa around 12:45 on Saturday morning. Officers found five victims with gunshot wounds.
A man was taken to the local hospital, where he died from his injuries. Another man was taken to a trauma center in Toronto, where he also died from his injuries.
Three men were treated at the hospital for injuries that did not endanger their lives and have since been released, police said.
Police have not released a description of a suspect, but said he was speaking to witnesses.
The Durham Police Homicide Unit is investigating the incident and asking for more witnesses to appear.
The BLVD posted a message of condolence on Instagram after the incident.
“Our hearts and prayers go with tonight’s victims and their families,” he wrote. “Thanks to everyone who contacted us, we’re all safe.”
