A terrifying video has shown the moment a monkey brutally attacked a two-year-old girl.
The girl, a refugee from Ukraine named Paulina, had been playing outside when the animal suddenly appeared.
Throwing her to the ground, the animal is seen in the footage brutally biting the young woman.
Her screams were heard by her parents who ran out.
Even though the girl’s mother catches it, the monkey still lunges and grabs Paulina’s legs in an attempt to continue its horrific attack.
His father can be seen in the video trying to kick the primate, but he shows little fear.
Paulina is now fighting for her life in intensive care after the horrific ordeal that took place in the Russian village of Terpigorievo.
His injuries, including lacerations to his arms and legs and severe blood loss, have been described as “serious”.

The monkey had reportedly escaped from a “petting zoo” belonging to a millionaire on a property next door.
Wealthy neighbors also have wolves, elephants and other wild animals near their homes.
“The parents came running to the screams and with difficulty freed their daughter from the clutches of the animal,” a local report said.
The victim was described as a child refugee from the war in Ukraine.

His parents are friends of the owner of the house where the attack took place.
They had given refuge to the family from the war started in February by Vladimir Putin.
Police are now investigating the attack after the parents lodged a complaint, with a criminal investigation underway.
