A 21-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged hate hate incident in Toronto, according to police.
In a press release, Toronto police said Wednesday that officers received a report of an alleged hate-motivated incident at a school in the Lawrence Avenue West and Bathurst Street area.
Police said a man was riding his bicycle on school property and the students clashed.
Officers said the man returned shortly after and “started yelling at the students.”
According to police, the man made anti-Semitic comments.

Officers said he clashed with school staff and a physical confrontation ensued.

Police said a staff member was allegedly threatened and assaulted.

According to police, Kyle McLeod, 21, of Toronto, was arrested.
He has been accused of causing riots, threats, assault, assault with a weapon and dangerous weapons.
Police said they plan to appear in court on July 28 in Toronto.
Officers said investigators believe it was an isolated incident.
“The Toronto Police Service’s Hate Crimes Unit has committed and is being investigated as an alleged hate-motivated incident,” the statement said.

In a tweet on Friday, Toronto Mayor John Tory said anti-Semitism “has absolutely no place in our city.”
