After two weeks of pouring money into the open jaws of Diablo Immortal, New Zealand streamer Quin69 finally has his first legendary five-star gem.

Quin69 has spent NZ $ 25,165 (or AU $ 22,899) trying to convince Diablo Immortal to drop only one of its top-level legendary gems. As mentioned earlier this week, the legendary gems are being used to improve the game’s end-level team beyond its base stats. These gems are the only way to create hyper-optimized post-campaign compilations, and it takes six of them to completely update a character. Because of their incredible rarity, the legendary five-star jewelry is considered a whale bait, a way to persuade reckless players financially to pour a lot of money into the game.
All Quin wanted was to see how much money it would take to drop one of these jewels. He fired $ 10,000 NZ in a single stream. He then broke the NZ $ 20,000 barrier late last week. They needed another $ 5,000 until the time came.
The streamer experiment has illuminated what the Diablo Immortal experience really is like against free players. If you need to inject almost $ 23,000 into the game to get one of these rare gems, what hope is there for players who don’t pay or can’t pay?
