Ziyech has failed to fit into Thomas Tuchel’s usual plans. The 29-year-old played just 14 Premier League games last season. In two years at Stamford Bridge, he has scored 14 goals in 83 appearances, failing to become a household name in the starting lineup.
Dissatisfied with the current role in the team, Ziyech has submitted a transfer request to Chelsea, according to the Daily Mail. The player preferred to play behind the striker and create goal opportunities, but Tuchel preferred Mason Mount or Kai Havertz in this role, pushing Ziyech out on the right.
Ziyech has been a long-term target for AC Milan and has reportedly opened talks with the former Ajax man. Milan are confident that this time they will be able to reach the Moroccan international, as the player is looking for a way out of Chelsea.
Everton has been mentioned as an interested party, but the Toffees will not spend a lot of money unless there is a massive elimination of the team and one of their valuable assets is sold. Chelsea will seek to recover the maximum amount of £ 33 million they paid for Ziyech.
Lampard knows Ziyech well and would be interested in the 29-year-old if he wants to leave Chelsea but remains in the Premier League. Toffees should focus on improving other areas or targeting cheaper options.
