The Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) confirms that the planned closure of Highway 417 in Ottawa this week has been postponed.
Queensway was due to close on Thursday in both directions to replace the Booth Street Bridge. The closure was expected to last until Monday, with diversions in both directions.
However, the MTO told CTV News Ottawa in an email that the rapid replacement of the bridge has been postponed due to ongoing work interruptions.
Contractor Kiewit-Dufferin Midtown Partnership (KDMP) said last week that the replacement of the bridge is tentatively scheduled for July 21-25, pending a resolution on the work stoppage, but the MTO says it still is working to confirm when the work will be done. to pass.
“MTO and its contractor are currently evaluating when the quick replacement will be made, with new dates depending on the length of current work breaks, events in the city of Ottawa and the timing,” the MTO said in a statement .
The ministry said the public will be informed of the new road closure dates when they are confirmed.
