Winnipeg police are telling people to find an alternative route this afternoon while investigating a fatal crash near St. John’s Industrial Park. Boniface.
Police said crews were called around 9:30 a.m. on Dugald Road and Bournais Drive for a two-vehicle collision.
Images from the crash site appear to show that a large truck collided with another vehicle, causing significant damage to the driver’s side.
The door next to the driver of the other vehicle is on the ground, and the front bumper is also outside the vehicle.
Police said a 47-year-old man had to be removed from the vehicle and taken to hospital in critical condition, but later died from his injuries.
Police have closed Bournais Drive in a northerly direction and Beghin Avenue in a southerly direction.
Drivers will be redirected to Bournais to the east and Beghin to the west and police are urging people to avoid the area.
