Seven people, three adults, three teenagers and a child, were taken to hospital in stable condition after a 26-year-old driver collided with a stolen truck on Yellowhead Trail on Saturday evening, according to Alberta Health Services.
Six vehicles, including the stolen black Ford truck, were involved in the collision.
Police say the driver “was driving erratically and hit several vehicles” near 121st Street and Yellowhead Trail, according to a press release sent Sunday morning. Police later confirmed that “the truck was traveling in the opposite direction.”

Police said the driver walked away after the crash and after a brief chase on foot, the person was arrested. The 26-year-old remains in custody pending charges.

The SEM responded to multiple injuries at the scene, while others were taken to hospital.
The Major Collision Investigation Section is conducting an investigation.
